Mihyun Kim Explores Memory and Pyknolepsy in Soft Oil Paintings
Mihyun Kim hails from South Korea and holds an MFA from Hongik University. She’s known for her realistic oil paintings that feature gentle edges and deep storytelling elements. Her work explores pyknolepsy, reflecting on how fleeting our experiences can be today, while also offering a fresh take on Cinderella through the eyes of the overlooked. To add a touch of positivity, she created a character named Ducky. Since fully committing to her art in 2021, she’s hosted six solo exhibitions and won various awards, including the Young Artist Award at Art Ground Seoul. Her next solo show at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel runs from May 2 to July 4, while a new series focusing on Ducky is set for August.
