Micromega Project: 117 Audio Tracks and Illustrations Explore the Cosmos
Alessandro Zannier, known as Ottodix, has created Micromega Project, an interdisciplinary digital artwork that combines drawing, sculpture, digital art, and encyclopedic illustration. The project is structured in nine levels inspired by the universe's matter, from microparticles to parallel universes. It originated from Zannier's album "Micromega," released in March 2017, which features nine tracks. These were expanded into 117 audio reinterpretations by 22 Italian musicians, including Madaski (Africa Unite), Luca Urbani (Soerba), Laura Bisceglia, Flavio Ferri (DeltaV), and Gigi Masin. The project also includes an equal number of illustrations. Produced by Biennale Italia Cina, it premiered in Beijing in August 2016. A series of itinerant exhibitions is planned for 2018, with a preview in Berlin during the Coffi Festival of Italian-German interdisciplinary art. Zannier aims to occupy unconventional exhibition spaces such as planetariums, observatories, research centers, museums, and science festivals, emphasizing philosophical and physical aspects.
