Microcosm: Mineral and Vegetable Alchemies at Kyro Art Gallery

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The Kyro Art Gallery in Pietrasanta, Lucca, presents 'Microcosmo: forme in divenire – Alchimie minerali e vegetali,' a group exhibition curated by Antimo Pascale. The show explores a non-anthropocentric perspective on life, inspired by ecologist Jacob von Uexküll. It is structured in three chapters, juxtaposing watchmaking elements with natural motifs. The first section features Simoncini.Tangi (Daniela Simoncini, born 1972 in Siena, and Pasquale Tangi, born 1980 in Foggia), whose works intertwine nature and artifice. Giuseppe Ciracì (born 1975 in Brindisi) presents two pieces, including 'La natura e il paesaggio nella pittura italiana,' referencing a 2002 volume by Pierluigi de Vecchi and Graziano Alfredo Vergani, blending art history, personal history, and natural history. Matthias Kostner (born 1982 in Bolzano) exhibits 'Breackable' (2013) and 'Virtual our real' (2021), both in lime wood, critiquing human alienation in a technologically mediated Umwelt.
