MICROCLIMA Launches Playground Project at Venice Biennale

At the Architecture Biennale in Venice, the duo MICROCLIMA, comprising Alice Ongaro Sartori and Paolo Rosso, introduced 'Il Giardino dei Bambini Non Accompagnati' in partnership with Kunsthalle Zurich. This temporary space aims to revive classic street games while exploring the reclamation of public areas. Designed by Gli Impresari—Edoardo Aruta, Marco Di Giuseppe, and Rosario Sorbello—the project features a modular stage for both exhibitions and play. Drawing inspiration from Italy in the 1970s, it also nods to an 1892 amendment that permitted unaccompanied minors free entry to public gardens. Co-curated by MICROCLIMA, Daniel Baumann of Kunsthalle Zurich, and Gabriela Burkhalter, the exhibit is open from May 23 to September 16. The collective calls on the Municipality of Venice to revitalize the nearby neglected garden and reconsider Viale Garibaldi.
