Michelangelo Pistoletto on art, fashion, and the Third Paradise

artist · 2026-04-26

In Biella, CirculART 4.0 has been launched by Michelangelo Pistoletto's Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte, with the support of the Material Innovation Lab, under the direction of Olga Pirazzi and Rebecca Mazzu. This initiative merges art, fashion, and sustainability to establish a transparent, circular textile supply chain. A collaboration among three artists, three designers, and seventeen manufacturing partners aims to develop innovative materials that tackle climate change. The project is set to be featured during Milan Fashion Week 2025, accompanied by a documentary chronicling its progress. Pistoletto, who has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, highlights the importance of ethical fashion in communication and advocates for a transition to a new ethical framework away from profit-driven models.
