artist · 2026-04-27

Michelangelo Pistoletto (Biella, 1933) has been commissioned by the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) to define the identity of Casa Italia for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, held from August 28 to September 8. The project, realized by Fondazione Cittadellarte in collaboration with Galleria Continua, will be presented to the press in the coming weeks. It aims to highlight the tenacity of Paralympic athletes in overcoming barriers. The collaboration began at the third edition of the Festival della Cultura Paralimpica in Milan in October 2022, where Pistoletto discussed art and social change. Pistoletto’s Third Paradise concept and his vision of art as a universal language underpin the project. In 2023, his 90th birthday was marked by exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and the burning of his "Venere degli Stracci" in Naples, which will be reinstalled in Piazza Municipio on January 22.
