Michela Picchi's HYPER PORTAL Installation at Palazzo Moscova for Fuorisalone 2025
Michela Picchi, born in Rome in 1987, is known for a style blending pop and surrealism, often working in urban spaces. From 2023 to 2024, she painted a secret garden on the terrace of Cavour station and a 300-square-meter anti-smog mural at Garbatella along Rome's metro Line B. She now presents HYPER PORTAL, an interactive installation at Palazzo Moscova 18 in Milan's Brera Design District, from April 7 to 13, 2025. The work is part of glo for art, a patronage project by glo (BAT Italia) that previously involved Nico Vascellari and Emiliano Ponzi. HYPER PORTAL features a symbolic portal inviting visitors into a sensory dimension exploring individuality and collectivity, responding to movement and touch. The aesthetic includes sinuous lines and vibrant colors (turquoise, gold yellow, red, purple, bright green) chosen by Picchi during her time in Hong Kong eight or nine years ago. The installation colonizes the courtyard and windows of the historic palace. Concurrently, glo debuts its first fashion collaboration with SUNS, an athletic and sporty-chic brand, featuring two versions of the glo HYPER PRO device (Sea Breeze and Palm Vibes) and limited-edition accessories. Picchi currently lives in Berlin, where she moved after Hong Kong, finding freedom to experiment.
