Michael Beutler installs 'Bales 2014/2017' at Fondazione La Raia
German artist Michael Beutler's work 'Bales 2014/2017' has been installed at Fondazione La Raia in Novi Ligure, Italy, following previous commissions by Remo Salvadori and Koo Jeong A. The installation reinterprets a project originally conceived for the Kunstareal park in Munich, where Beutler transformed a portion of the park into an agricultural field. In Munich, a rotobaler collected industrially produced straw in fluorescent colors, creating multicolored bales. At La Raia, the concept evolves within the context of the biodynamic farm, focusing on the tension between natural and artificial, industrial labor and manual care. The vineyard at La Raia is hand-harvested, rows are left grassy and unmowed, and cultivation follows Rudolf Steiner's principle of interconnection among all living beings. The work uses simple, economical materials and artisanal practices. The inauguration took place on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Fondazione La Raia, Strada Monterotondo 79, Novi Ligure (AL). Entry was free with reservation.
