Michael Anastassiades' 'Things That Go Together' at NiMAC in Nicosia

The Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (NiMAC) presents 'Things That Go Together', a solo exhibition by Cypriot-born, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades (b. 1967). The show, sponsored by Flos, explores his design philosophy through collected objects, prototypes, and iconic works. A room transformed into a cabinet of curiosities displays nearly perfect spherical stones bought on eBay, alongside geometric components and naturalia. The exhibition includes models of his String Light for Flos, a 12-meter cable suspension lamp allowing free placement. Furniture, lamps, and accessories from the past 20 years—such as the Jack bookcase for B&B, Sommelier Collection for Puiforcat, and Miracle Chips with Henraux—are placed directly on the floor to reduce distance. Anastassiades describes the retrospective as an exercise in maturity, focusing on awareness, balance, and authenticity. The show runs until July 20, 2019.
