MIC Faenza joins Google Cultural Institute with two digital exhibitions

digital · 2026-05-05

The Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza (MIC), established by Gaetano Ballardini in 1908, stands as the premier museum worldwide for ceramics, showcasing approximately 60,000 artifacts across 11,000 square meters. Recently, it has partnered with the Google Cultural Institute, which promotes cultural initiatives online, to present two digital exhibitions: 'Le grandi Civiltà' and 'Le ceramiche italiane dal medioevo all’età contemporanea'. The first exhibition delves into ceramic artistry from ancient cultures, such as China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Islamic world (9th–20th centuries). The second focuses on ceramics from Faenza and 20th-century Italian artists, including Galileo Chini and Lucio Fontana. A forthcoming gallery will feature international ceramics from the 16th to 20th centuries, highlighting works by artists like Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí.
