Mibact Finances 10 New Cultural Heritage Projects Across Italy for €25 Million

The Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Mibact) has launched the Strategic Plan for Major Cultural Heritage Projects, funding 10 new restoration and redevelopment initiatives across 9 regions with a total investment of €25 million. Minister Dario Franceschini announced the plan, which brings the total value of the Strategic Plan to €128,630,501, adding to the €103,630,501 already allocated on August 9 for 11 other projects. The funded sites include the Island of Gallinara (€8 million for acquisition and creation of a documentation center), the Roman Theatre of Ferentino (€1.5 million for restoration), Forte Aurelia in Rome (€2.5 million for a multifunctional cultural hub), the Archaeological Park of the Tauriani in Palmi (€2 million for excavation and conservation), the Royal Palace of Portici (€1.8 million for restoration of the monumental staircase), the Colonia di Castel Raniero in Faenza (€3.7 million for a university study center), the Island of Asinara (€1.2 million for recovery of the former maritime health station and chapel), the Archaeological Park of Pianosa Island (€1.3 million for a new park and museum), the Roman city of Tifernum Mataurense (€1.2 million for redevelopment), and the National Museum and Archaeological Park of Altino (€1.7 million for valorization). The projects aim to enhance Italy's widespread cultural heritage, particularly in small and medium municipalities, and to boost cultural tourism and local economies.
