MIAT launches immersive storytelling and metaverse masterclass in Milan
MIAT – Multiverse Institute For Arts And Technologies, founded in mid-2021 by Elisabetta Rotolo, is an educational and creative hub focused on immersive and emerging technologies. It has launched IMMERSIVE STORYTELLING & METAVERSE – MASTERCLASS, a practical training course in Milan from July 11 to 17, 2022. The course targets creative professionals in screen and communication industries, including producers, directors, filmmakers, artists, set designers, developers, journalists, and marketing professionals, who must have prior experience in film, audiovisual, production, digital, or performance fields. Participants will work with a multidisciplinary team of award-winning creators and ArTech experts to develop and pitch an immersive project to an international jury. Speakers include Mary Matheson (immersive creator, director, executive producer), Giuseppe Calafiore (Manager Meta Reality Labs), Lewis Ball (Immersive Director), Dan Stankowski (award-winning games developer), and Matteo Milani (award-winning sound designer and artist). The 60-hour in-person course also includes two days of online pitching on July 23 and 24. The curriculum covers digital complexities, team building, work approaches, budgeting, and distribution methods. Organizers state the masterclass is designed to help participants understand XR and metaverse technologies as the next frontier for art-tech expression, providing a competitive advantage to work globally and meet market demand.
