miart 2018: Milan Art Week Kicks Off with 184 Galleries and Seven Prizes

The miart 2018 art fair is set to take place from April 13 to 15 at Fieramilanocity Pavilion 3, under the direction of Alessandro Rabottini. This year's event showcases 184 galleries, including 75 from abroad, and is divided into several sections: Established, Emergent (curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini), Generations (Lorenzo Benedetti), Decades (Alberto Salvadori), On Demand (Oda Albera), and Object (Hugo Macdonald). Notable features include individual exhibitions by Carsten Höller and David Medalla, alongside a tribute to Mauro Staccioli. The Emergent section introduces 13 of 20 galleries, with Italian artists like Diego Marcon and Alfredo Aceto. A total of €134,000 will be awarded in seven prizes. miartalks, curated by Fatos Üstek, will discuss 'What can we imagine?' and include a dialogue about Manifesta 12. This marks the first time Intesa Sanpaolo has partnered with the fair.
