MIA Photo Fair cancels 2020 edition, moves to new Superstudio venue in 2021

MIA Photo Fair has canceled its 2020 edition due to ongoing COVID-19 uncertainty in Lombardy. The fair, originally scheduled for March 19–22 at The Mall in Milan, was among the first to postpone due to the pandemic. It will now return for its tenth edition from March 25–28, 2021, at the new SUPERSTUDIO MAXI in Milan's Famagosta district. The move follows The Mall's decision to partially change the venue's use. Founder Fabio Castelli described the relocation as a 'return home,' as early editions were held at Superstudio Più in the Tortona area. Castelli denied rumors of a sale to the Superstudio group, confirming the fair remains under his and his daughter Lorenza's ownership. The fair's cancellation follows miart's postponement to September 11–13, 2020, dates that had also been considered for MIA. SUPERSTUDIO MAXI is the third space of the Superstudio brand, founded in the 1980s by Flavio Lucchini and Gisella Borioli.
