festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The 2023 edition of MIA Fair, held at Superstudio Maxi in Milan, brought together over 100 exhibitors spanning photography, design, fashion, reportage, publishing, and the Metaverse. Artribune selected standout stands, many international. MLB Gallery (Ferrara) featured Anna Di Prospero's meta-erotic polyptychs and Simona Ghizzoni's Caravaggesque still lifes and intimate family photos. Galerie Le Réverbère (Lyon) presented five artists, including a notable Klein, but highlighted Geraldine Lay's two-act solo show exploring Scottish mines and Japanese suburbs alongside vintage Japan by Marc Riboud. Lightworks Gallery (Australia) showcased George Mayer's graphic nudes evoking Manzoni, Klein, and Avedon, plus vintage Gundlach photos from the 1950s–60s. Tallulah Studio Art (Milan) exhibited Carlo Bevilacqua's new series on Pavee nomads in England and Ireland. Spazio Nuovo (Rome) featured Giuseppe Lo Schiavo's hypnotic 'Dafne' blending ancient and futuristic, artificial and natural. Erica Kelly Martin (US) presented her 'Ten Thousand Untrue Things' series on the American West. Nine Fish Art Gallery (Mumbai) showed 'Lost Children of postmodernism' exploring India's violent evolution through traditional Kushti wrestling and street theater Leela. A special mention went to 'Under Skin – Stories from Iran,' a collection of photographs on contemporary Iran by various artists.
