MF Editions: A Programmatic Approach to Publishing

publication · 2026-04-23

French publisher MF Editions, founded by Bastien Gallet and Omer Corlaix to support the music journal Musica Falsa, has expanded its editorial line since 2005. The press now operates six collections: 'Frictions' (fiction), 'Les mondes possibles' (metaphysics), 'Répercussions' (aesthetics), 'Dehors' (ecology, philosophy, politics), 'Délai' (experimental book forms), and 'Paroles' (music interviews). Co-director Bastien Gallet describes the editorial project as a 'programming' akin to a festival, aiming to create events through books that echo, support, or contradict each other. Notable titles include a book on limbo conceived with Luc and Christian Boltanski, and translations of James Gibson and Paul Shepard. The press distributes through Pollen.
