Meyer Riegger and Jocelyn Wolff Open Joint Gallery in Seoul
German gallery Meyer Riegger and French gallery Jocelyn Wolff are joining forces to open a permanent space in Seoul's Hannam-dong district, named Meyer Riegger Wolff, set to open in September 2025. The collaboration builds on a partnership that began over fifteen years ago, with both galleries supporting artists such as Miriam Cahn and Katinka Bock. They previously shared a booth at Frieze Seoul in 2022 featuring Cahn's work and organized a group exhibition during the 2024 edition of the fair. The new gallery will be housed in a four-level space designed by architect Wook Choi, including a basement. Italian Gaia Musi, daughter of photographer Pino Musi and former director for the Asian market at Jocelyn Wolff, will lead the gallery. The inaugural exhibition, "Dreamed Last Night," runs from September 2 to November 7, 2025, juxtaposing 18th-century astronomical drawings and maps with works by contemporary artists including Miriam Cahn, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Alma Feldhandler, Isa Melsheimer, Eugène Leroy, and Marcel Duchamp. Meyer Riegger, founded in Karlsruhe in 1997, also has spaces in Berlin and Basel, and briefly operated a Seoul outpost in Gangnam District from September 2024, managed by Tom Woo. Jocelyn Wolff has been active in Paris since 2003. The joint venture aims to build new relationships and expand audiences for represented artists, leveraging Seoul's growing art scene and market.
