cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

With a population exceeding 21 million and situated at an elevation of 2,280 meters, Mexico City draws tourists to upscale areas such as Roma, Condesa, Zona Rosa, and Polanco. The Museo Nacional de Antropología, which opened its doors in 1964, covers 80,000 square meters and boasts the most extensive collection of Mesoamerican artifacts. Meanwhile, the Museo Tamayo de Arte Contemporáneo, established in 1982, showcases 1,000 pieces in its permanent collection and features "In Conversation with the Cosmos," highlighting Filipino artist David Medalla until March 30. Quintonil, under the direction of chef Jorge Vallejo, presents seasonal and traditional dishes. Teotihuacan, the country's top tourist destination, is just 40 minutes from downtown. The Museo Frida Kahlo, inaugurated in 1958, is situated in Coyoacán, which is also home to the León Trotsky Museum and the Azteca stadium.
