other · 2026-04-27

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has partnered with fragrance company Pura to launch a line of six perfumes inspired by its collection. The scents include Blue Water Lotus (inspired by lotus flowers on the Temple of Dendur), Egyptian Sandalwood (evoking Ancient Egypt), Bamboo Forest (capturing the Astor Chinese Garden Court), Spiced Woods (a mountain refuge), Terracotta Rose (Greek artisans), and Perfume Immortelle (Roman craftsmanship). The fragrances are wearable and compatible with home diffusers, priced under $20 each or in gift sets. Chief Fragrance Experience Officer of Pura Mara Dumski stated the scents aim to evoke moods and tell stories, offering a new way to experience the Met's 5,000-year art collection. Josh Romm, head of partnerships at the Met, said the program allows fans to experience art, history, and world cultures from home.
