Meta's AI investments drive up Quest VR headset prices amid global component shortages

Meta's Quest VR headsets will see price increases of $50 to $100, or about 12 to 20 percent, starting April 19, 2026. Most of this investment targets AI superintelligence efforts, including a $21 billion commitment to data center company CoreWeave, on top of an earlier $14.2 billion, and an additional $10 billion for an El Paso data center, up from an initial $1.5 billion.
