Meta Releases Open-Weight Code World Model After Safety Assessment

Meta has unveiled the Code World Model (CWM), an open-weight model designed for code generation and reasoning. This follows a preparedness evaluation detailed in a report. Conducted within Meta's Frontier AI Framework, the assessment examined the model's performance in areas that might pose severe risks, as well as its tendencies for misalignment. The findings indicated that CWM does not introduce new frontier risks beyond those already existing in the current AI landscape, resulting in its launch as an open-weight model.
