Met's Costume Institute to Celebrate Black Style in 2025
The Metropolitan Museum of Art will launch an exhibition titled "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" from May 6 to October 26, 2025. This groundbreaking event is the first focused on African American designers and Black menswear in over two decades, drawing inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s influential book "Slaves to Fashion." Funding will come from the Met Gala on May 5, 2025, which features co-chairs Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Colman Domingo, with LeBron James as the honorary chair. The gala will be overseen by Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue America.
