Mercedes Azpilicueta's Playful Installation at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein
From 3 May to 22 November 2026, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein will host 'CaccHho CucchhA', an adaptable installation by Mercedes Azpilicueta (b. 1981, La Plata, Argentina) in its free-admission side-light gallery. The work invites children and adults to explore, play, and invent, transforming into a resonant space where motion and touch generate quiet sounds. The title combines 'cacho' (a leftover fragment of time) and 'cucha' (Argentinian slang for shelter), promoting self-directed play as emancipatory. A large-format tapestry merges images of children playing in Gaza with Azpilicueta's drawings and photographs of Aldo van Eyck's play sculptures.
