Mercedes-AMG Transforms LA Bridge into Autobahn for GT Coupé Launch
On May 20th, Mercedes-AMG transformed Los Angeles's 6th Street Bridge into a replica of the autobahn to unveil the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. The launch showcased vibrant blue signs, diagonal white stripes, and a large LED display. Three vehicles executed synchronized stunts, complete with smoking tires and coordinated lighting effects. Brad Pitt, the campaign's new ambassador, and Formula 1 racer George Russell exited the cars. Michael Schiebe, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG, remarked that the car warranted a limitless road. Powered by AMG's High-Performance Electric Architecture (AMG.EA), it features three axial-flux motors and directly cooled battery cells. The CONCEPT AMG GT XX set a record in Nardò, Italy in 2025 using this platform. Two variants are offered: GT 63 4MATIC+ and GT 55 4MATIC+, targeting drivers who are hesitant about electric vehicles yet crave the feel of a V8.
