Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé debuts as all-electric performance car
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the production-ready GT 4-Door Coupé, its first fully electric vehicle under the performance sub-brand. The launch event took place in Los Angeles. The car replaces the original ICE model, swapping a hand-built V8 for three electric motors and a 106kWh battery. In GT63 trim, it produces 1,169hp, reaches 62mph in 2.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 186mph. Range is estimated at up to 432 miles, with 600kW fast charging adding over 250 miles in 10 minutes. The design features a prominent front grille, fastback body, and a screen-filled dashboard. Mercedes-AMG offers synthetic V8 sound. Pricing is expected to exceed £178,000, undercutting the Ferrari Luce. The GT is a standalone model, not part of Mercedes' unified EV/ICE lineup.
