Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé: Aggressive Design Meets Electric Performance

Mercedes-AMG has introduced the new GT 4-Door Coupé, showcasing a bold design that diverges significantly from earlier models, focusing on striking aesthetics rather than broad appeal. This vehicle is characterized by a prominent Panamericana grille, which can feature illuminated vertical slats, star-shaped LED headlights, and a sleek front end. Constructed on the AMG.EA electric platform, the fastback roofline is lowered by four centimeters compared to traditional combustion designs, thanks to compact axial-flux electric motors that are only eight centimeters wide. It has a wheelbase of 3,040 mm and robust rear contours, with the back highlighted by six turbine-style taillights and an active spoiler. Inside, the cabin merges brushed aluminum, open-pore carbon fiber, and digital glass, featuring an AMG RACE ENGINEER dial and a simulated AMGFORCE S+ mode that mimics a multi-channel V8 sound. Chief Design Officer Bastian Baudy remarked that the car embodies "high-tech and innovation," while Chief Technology Officer Jörg Burzer emphasized it as evidence of elevated performance and endurance. The design team in Affalterbach intentionally chose to stand out in a time of uniform electric vehicles.
