Mercanteinfiera Opens 42nd Edition in Parma with 1,000 Exhibitors
The 42nd edition of Mercanteinfiera, Italy's renowned antiques and vintage fair, is set to commence on September 30, 2023, at Fiere di Parma, following preview days on September 28-29, and concluding on October 8. Spanning over 40,000 square meters, the event will host approximately 1,000 exhibitors and draw in thousands of attendees. Established in 1981 by Stefano Spagnoli, the fair has grown from an initial 80 exhibitors. Ilaria Dazzi, the marketing manager, highlights the fair's significant economic influence and the six-month planning phase. The event will feature collateral exhibitions, awards, webinars, and a new Live Stream Commerce initiative. While exhibitors are carefully vetted for quality, a complimentary appraisal service will also be available. Despite difficulties in exporting cultural goods, the fair seeks to boost global interest in Italian collecting, with plans for a Paris edition postponed until 2025.
