Meow Wolf cofounder unveils Submersive, an immersive art bathhouse in Austin

Corvas Brinkerhoff, a cofounder of Meow Wolf, revealed plans for Submersive, an immersive art bathhouse covering 20,000 square feet in Austin, Texas, slated to launch in the summer of 2027. This venue transforms conventional hydrotherapy through the use of light displays, projection art, and contemporary health technologies. Featuring a hub-and-spoke design, it includes 12 distinct rooms emanating from a central area, each offering different temperatures, steam levels, and water buoyancy. Drawing from Japanese and Turkish bathing traditions, an AI-driven quiz will tailor visitor experiences based on their mental state. Susan Magsamen, from the International Arts + Mind Lab at Johns Hopkins University, provides guidance on neuroaesthetic design. The facility aims for 200,000 visitors annually, with entry fees at $88 and annual memberships reaching $500. A partial opening is anticipated in 2027, with full operations commencing by 2028.
