Mental Health in Fashion: A Photographic Campaign Breaks the Silence
Florian Müller, founder of the international campaign Mental Health in Fashion, together with artist Claudia Malecka, launched the photographic project "One Person. One Voice." The initiative features 35 portraits of fashion industry workers—from designers and journalists to artisans and activists—shot during Berlin Fashion Week. Funded by Projekt Zukunft, a program of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises, the project aims to address the structural mental health pressures within the fashion system. Participants include Diane Pernet, Sara Sozzani Maino, Julian Zigerli, and Alfons Kaiser. Malecka's portraits use a suspended canvas as a metaphor for fragility. Müller, who has twice refused to sell the campaign, emphasizes the need for systemic change through conferences, workshops, and educational programs. The project also includes a mental health section at the A Shaded View on Fashion Film festival.
