Memory and Future: Italian Art Exhibition Opens in Beijing
From July 21 to September 9, 2026, the Beijing Guardian Art Center will present 'Memory and Future. Contemporary Italian Art,' marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Italy and China. Curated by Guicciardo Sassoli de’ Bianchi Strozzi and an international committee, the exhibition showcases both 20th-century masters and contemporary talents. It is organized into six thematic areas: memory, innovation, nature, design, conceptual art, and cross-cultural interactions. Notable artists such as Giorgio Morandi, Lucio Fontana, and Arnaldo Pomodoro will be featured, emphasizing the artistic exchange between Italy and China, including pieces from the 2008 Olympics and recent artist residencies. This exhibition aims to enhance cultural diplomacy through modern art.
