Memorie Urbane Festival Brings International Street Art and Skate Park to Lazio Towns

The Memorie Urbane – Urban Festival, curated by Davide Rossillo of Turismo Creativo, continues its urban renewal mission in Lazio, Italy, with new murals and a skate park. Running until June 5, the festival features international artists including Alias, David Oliveira, Frederico Draw, Lonac, Louis Masai, and Sepe&Chazme. Portuguese artist Frederico Draw will paint eight bus stops in Gaeta. On May 28, the city of Cassino will inaugurate a new skate park with a professional concrete ramp, a green path with free Wi-Fi, and a mural by Croatian artist Lonac, his first in Italy. Other events include a concert by guitarist Paolo Spaccamonti on May 20 at the Biblioteca Comunale Adriano Olivetti in Terracina, and a conference titled "La street art al museo: l’istituzionalizzazione aiuta o uccide la sovversività?" with Christian Omodeo, curator of the exhibition "Street Art - Banksy & Co. L’arte allo stato urbano" at the Pinacoteca Comunale di Gaeta on May 22. The festival also offers live painting sessions and bike, walking, and bus tours of the artworks across the municipalities of Cassino, Fondi, Formia, Gaeta, Santi Cosma e Damiano, Terracina, Valmontone, and Ventotene.
