MemoMi: the first web TV dedicated to Milan's history

digital · 2026-04-27

MemoMi is the first web TV entirely dedicated to narrating the history of Milan. Launched in 2014, it aims to preserve and share the city's past through videos covering places, curiosities, personalities, and events. The platform is promoted by the cultural association Chiamale Storie, supported by the Fondazione Francesco Pasquinelli, and its content is curated by 3D Produzioni under the editorial direction of journalist Didi Gnocchi (born 1961). MemoMi organizes its content into categories such as themes (costume, society, culture, entertainment, events, places) and series, which explore topics in episodes. Examples include a seven-episode series on feminism with journalist Lea Melandri (born 1941) and episodes on the history of the Triennale di Milano. The platform collaborates with local archives, foundations, museums, and professionals. Some content has aired on TV channels like Laeffe Tv and Sky Arte, such as the documentary "Piazza Fontana: i funerali che salvarono la democrazia" about the funerals of the Piazza Fontana bombing victims on December 15, 1969. MemoMi also works with schools, offering a dedicated educational section for students and teachers. An app for iOS and Android is forthcoming.
