Melbourne Design Week 2025: 9 Must-See Events

Melbourne Design Week returns from May 14 to 24, 2025, featuring over 400 events across the city and state. Highlights include a natural dye workshop with the Australian Tapestry Workshop on May 9; 'Built Character' exhibition by Ka Ra Studio and Samantha Curcio at Abbotsford Convent (May 13–16); 'Treading Lightly' fashion and textiles exhibition at Koorie Heritage Trust (May 14–17) showcasing works by six First Peoples artists; 'A Decade of Menus' by Long Prawn in Melbourne's CBD (May 14–18); Meg Kolac's solo exhibition in Collingwood (May 14–21); 'La Grande Fête (The Grand Feast)' curated jewellery exhibition by DANIEL + EMMA (May 14–23); Melbourne Art Book Fair at NGV Great Hall (May 15–17); 'BLAK: Defining an Australian Future' lecture by Alison Page at Melbourne School of Design (May 16); and 'Designed by Human, Cut by Machine' pop-up showroom by Conrad-S in Brunswick (throughout Design Week).
