Melanie Georgacopoulos launches first high jewellery collection Eclipse

Melanie Georgacopoulos has unveiled Eclipse, her first high jewellery collection, centering on pearls combined with hard stones like Onyx and Chalcedony and diamonds. The collection's name references the celestial phenomenon, exploring monochromatic hues and transformation. Georgacopoulos, known for reviving pearl jewellery through modern designs, began her career with a sculpture degree from Edinburgh College of Art and a masters from the Royal College of Art. Her graduate show produced the Sliced Necklace, leading to a collaboration with Japanese heritage house Tasaki. Founded her own maison in 2010, she draws on social and cultural observations, creating pieces like a cast silver cuff plated with black ruthenium that evokes warrior armor. The collection reflects her autobiographical approach and aims to expand conversations on materiality.
