Mel Ramsden, Pioniere dell'Arte Concettuale e Co-Fondatore di Art & Language, Muore a 79 Anni
Mel Ramsden, figura chiave dell'arte concettuale e membro del gruppo Art & Language, è scomparso il 23 luglio 2024 all'età di 79 anni a Middleton Cheney, in Inghilterra. Nato nel 1944 a Ilkeston, Derbyshire, si trasferì in Australia dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, per poi tornare in Inghilterra dopo la morte del padre. Ramsden studiò alla Nottingham School of Art and Crafts e alla National Gallery School di Melbourne, dove incontrò Ian Burn. Nel 1965 si trasferì a Londra e poi a New York nel 1967, co-fondando la Society for Theoretical Art and Analyses nel 1969. Collaborando con Baldwin e Harrison, espose ampiamente. Art & Language ricevette una nomination al Turner Prize nel 1986, e uno studio sul collettivo è previsto per l'inizio del 2025.
