MEET Milano launches year-long digital culture project 'Le Radici del Nuovo'

exhibition · 2026-04-27

MEET, the active center for digital art and culture in Milan, is launching a new year-long project titled 'Le Radici del Nuovo' (The Roots of the New), curated by director Mariagrazia Mattei. The project is structured in three phases, beginning on November 4 with an exhibition of approximately 4,000 hours of digitized audiovisual materials. This first phase traces the evolution of digital culture from pioneering American discoveries of the 1960s to the Italian avant-garde, starting with the 1984 exhibition 'Arte e Nuove Tecnologie' in Pavia, curated by Giulio Carlo Argan. Subsequent phases, developed with a curatorial committee including Aldo Colonetti, Derrick de Kerckhove, Emanuele Quinz, and Italo Rota, will focus on the Italian digital art scene from the 1960s (spring 2022) and then on the international scene and future trends (early 2023). The project aims to explore digital culture through exhibitions, interviews, and events dedicated to key works and protagonists of this evolution.
