Media Art Festival Returns to Maxxi with Digital Art and Interactive Works
The Maxxi in Rome is hosting the second edition of the Media Art Festival, overseen by Valentino Catricalà, showcasing digital art and projects from Mondo Digitale. This festival fosters collaboration between emerging artists and educational institutions. Gair Dunlop's Yellowcake presents a multichannel video installation that juxtaposes 1950s footage with contemporary visuals. Joseph Delappe's interactive piece, Gold Gandhi, incorporates a treadmill connected to a video game that replicates Gandhi's march. Sigalit Landau's Salted Lake features military boots immersed in salt, reflecting her Eastern European heritage. Other participating artists include Ahmad Nejad, Kristina Paustian, and Stanza. Creative residencies highlight works by Simone Pappalardo, Yannis Kranidiotis, and Chiara Passa, with contributions from Stavanger festival, Carma, Accademia di Roma, Regione Lazio, and Assessorato alla Crescita Culturale di Roma.
