Mechelle Bounpraseuth's child-friendly ceramic feast at AGNSW
The Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney will host Mechelle Bounpraseuth's new exhibition titled "Sou Sou" from March 14, 2026, through February 2027. Tailored for children, the exhibit includes four innovative installations. A notable piece, "Please, may money and gold flow and pour eternally without end," features a multi-level altar for kids to offer paper fruits. Another installation, "We've arrived home," showcases a blue hut decorated with Lao mats and sounds, including a lullaby. Curated by Emily Sullivan, "Sou Sou," meaning "you can do it" in Lao, emphasizes resilience and encourages interactive responses.
