Mayfair Art Weekend Launches in London with Max Mara Show by Ludovica Gioscia
The Mayfair Art Weekend has launched in London, evolving from the Brown's London Art Weekend founded in 2014 by gallerists John Martin and Johnny Messum. This year's edition, held from June 30 to July 2, partnered with the Royal Academy of Arts as headquarters and featured over 60 galleries, including Hauser & Wirth, PACE, and Gagosian, as well as Italian galleries like Cortesi, Mazzoleni, and Tornabuoni. A new collaboration with Max Mara brought a solo exhibition of Ludovica Gioscia's work 'Shapeshifters' to the brand's Bond Street store. Curated by Marina Dacci, director of the Collezione Maramotti, the show draws on Gioscia's long engagement with design and fashion, featuring three-dimensional wallpaper and fabric curtains from her 'Portals' series. The artist, born in Rome in 1977 and based in London since 1996, presented models, sketches, and projects from her studio. Max Mara also announced the upcoming exhibition of Emma Hart for the sixth edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women at the Whitechapel Gallery from July 12 to September 3.
