exhibition · 2026-05-04

From December 7, 2018, to April 28, 2019, the MAXXI museum in Rome will present the exhibition 'LA STRADA. Dove si crea il mondo,' curated by Hou Hanru alongside the museum's team. This exhibition showcases the contributions of over 140 artists, focusing on the significance of streets in modern society, including themes of public engagement, everyday experiences, and political discourse. Among the featured artists is Robin Rhode, born in Cape Town in 1976, who created a wall piece entitled 'Car on Bricks' (2010), which comments on the issue of stolen car wheels. Rhode aims to transform art into a public experience and inspires emerging artists to connect with the street to enhance the understanding of contemporary art. The exhibition is located at MAXXI, Via Guido Reni 4/a, Rome.
