MAXXI Rome Reopens with Reduced Ticket and Reinstalled Permanent Collection
After over three months of pandemic-related closure, the MAXXI – Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo in Rome has reopened its doors, offering a special ticket price of €5 from Tuesday to Friday. The museum showcases 'senzamargine. Passaggi nell’arte italiana a cavallo del millennio,' a reinstallation of its permanent collection curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi. This initiative follows the acquisition of pieces from nine prominent Italian contemporary artists, including Carla Accardi and Mario Schifano, funded by MiBACT in celebration of the museum's tenth anniversary. The exhibition features diverse forms such as painting, sculpture, and installation, with a particular emphasis on critic Alberto Boatto. MAXXI President Giovanna Melandri expressed her delight at the reopening and advocated for weekend museum hours to encourage social engagement.
