MAXXI Roma Celebrates Bruno Zevi with Centenary Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-05-04

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth, MAXXI in Rome pays tribute to Bruno Zevi, a multifaceted figure as an architect, essayist, politician, and communicator. The exhibition showcases works from architects he championed, such as Mario Fiorentino's Fosse Ardeatine Monument (1946, 1949), Ludovico Quaroni's La Martella village (1951-1954), Giovanni Michelucci's Church on the Highway (1961-1964), and Luigi Pellegrin's Marchesi Complex (1976). It emphasizes Zevi's influence and the evolution of Italian architecture from the 1960s through the 1980s. A vibrant lobster-colored surface recounts significant moments from Zevi's life. Additionally, a series of events will feature Massimo Teodori on April 26, Roberto Dulio and Claudio Gamba on June 6, and guided tours commencing June 14.
