MAXXI launches permanent video gallery with In Between Art Film

The MAXXI museum in Rome has launched a permanent video gallery titled 'THE PLACE TO BE' in the Sala Carlo Scarpa, offering free entry. This initiative, a collaboration with In Between Art Film—established by Beatrice Bulgari—and supported by LaserFilm, introduces the inaugural project 'ArTapes', curated by Giulia Ferracci. This project showcases videos from both historical and contemporary artists. Visitors can look forward to daily screenings, discussions, and performances featuring various art personalities. 'ArTapes' draws inspiration from the 1970s video art center Art/Tapes/22. The first screening series, 'Walking around the clock' (May 6–June 20, 2017, and July 20–September 6, 2017), will highlight works from multiple artists, with future events focusing on Chantal Akerman and Italian films from the 1960s.
