MAXXI Hosts Obiettivo Architettura Talks on Photography and Architecture

The MAXXI museum in Rome is hosting a series of talks titled "Obiettivo Architettura. Dialoghi tra fotografia, immagine e progetto," conceived by Lucia Bosso and running until December 12. The program explores the evolving relationship between architecture and photography, featuring prominent architects and photographers. Speakers include MoDusArchitects (Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol) with photographer Marco Pietracupa (October 6), Park Associati with Andrea Martiradonna (October 18), Gianluca Peluffo with Ernesta Caviola (November 10), Werner Tscholl with Piermario Ruggeri (November 17), and Labics (Maria Claudia Clemente and Francesco Isidori) with Marco Cappelletti (December 12). Journalists Silvia Botti (director of ABITARE) and Anna Iuzzolini (photoeditor of Pagina99) will pose questions. The opening session was introduced by Margherita Guccione, Director of MAXXI Architettura, and Alessandra Ferrari, coordinator of the Culture Department of the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators. Bosso notes that photography has shifted from merely documenting projects to interpreting architecture, with photographers now seen as authors. She cites successful collaborations like Pietracupa's work on MoDus's architecture and Cappelletti's "urban hyperrealism" for Labics's Città del Sole.
