MAXXI and Vittoriale connect via 5G and AI for phygital museum experience
On October 3, 2024, a new initiative named Connessioni Culturali was introduced, allowing visitors to explore Rome's MAXXI and Gardone Riviera's Vittoriale degli Italiani both physically and digitally through advanced technologies such as 5G, AI, blockchain, IoT, and edge computing. Participants can generate digital twins using 3D scanning and engage in real-time interactions at both locations via VR and AR headsets, with their data securely stored on the blockchain for future use. This project is supported by Italy's Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy through a 5G technology research initiative, with collaborators including the University of Padua and TIM Enterprise. The complimentary experience is available from October 3 to 6 at the MAXXI Corner and Vittoriale.
