MAUSA Opens Second Street Art Museum in UNESCO-Protected French Village
On July 7, 2018, the second MAUSA museum, focused on street and urban art, was inaugurated in Vauban de Neuf-Brisach, Saône-et-Loire, within the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008. Spanning close to 1,200 square meters, the museum was spearheaded by financier Stanislas Belhomme and director Clémentine Lemaitre, marking the tenth anniversary of the UNESCO designation. The inaugural MAUSA was established in 2017 in Toulouse-le-Château. Its collection boasts over one hundred pieces from renowned artists such as Banksy and Keith Haring. Additionally, prominent street artists like C215 and Jérôme Mesnager produced live art in bunkers near the town's fortifications, involving local residents through workshops during a month-long residency.
