Mauro Felicori Elected to Emilia-Romagna Regional Council

Mauro Felicori, a cultural manager from Bologna and former director of the Reggia di Caserta, has been elected to the Regional Council of Emilia-Romagna with 5,370 personal preferences. He ran on the "Bonaccini Presidente" list, supporting incumbent governor Stefano Bonaccini (Partito Democratico), who was re-confirmed in the regional elections. Felicori's election comes shortly after the 44th edition of Arte Fiera in Bologna. He has a background in philosophy and cultural economics, having served as director of the Department of Economy and Promotion of the City of Bologna since 2011, and previously directed the Culture Area, Civic Museums Institution, Civic Libraries Institution, and the Culture and University Relations Sector. He also taught management and organization of cultural enterprises at the University of Bologna. His tenure at the Reggia di Caserta ended early in autumn 2018. Following his election, Bonaccini appointed Felicori as the new Assessor for Culture of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Bonaccini stated that Felicori's personal electoral result rewards the decision to open the alliance to recognized civil society figures, seeing it as recognition of his professional experience and an incentive to strengthen cultural policies.
