Mauro Cappotto and Federico Baronello at Fondazione Brodbeck in Catania
Fondazione Brodbeck in Catania hosts the first edition of 'Unfinished Culture', a new cycle curated by Giovanni Iovane with artistic direction by Gianluca Collica, featuring solo exhibitions by Mauro Cappotto and Federico Baronello. Cappotto, born in Messina in 1965, presents works centered on the theme of 'observatories'—structures used to look over the Berlin Wall—documented during his travels in Berlin. His pieces include drawings, photographs, and a large terracotta vase with a meadow, referencing a square in Ficarra. Baronello, born in Catania in 1968, shows photographs and videos addressing migration, raw material and human trafficking, and Mediterranean destinies, focusing on Sicily, Lampedusa, the Cara di Mineo, the Porto Palo shipwreck, and tomato cultivation in Vittoria. The exhibition runs until June 10, 2016.
