Maurizio Ceccato Wins ADI Design 2021 Award for Book Design
Maurizio Ceccato (Rome, 1970) has been awarded the Premio ADI Design 2021 in the Communication Design category for his graphic design of the 'Altreforme' essay series published by Del Vecchio Editore. The project was selected by the Permanent Design Observatory for the ADI Design Index. Ceccato, who previously won the award in two other editions, runs the studio IFIX, founded in 2007, specializing in graphic design, visual communication, art direction, and publishing. His design for the series evokes traditional typography with letterpress and decorative elements, using pastel four-color printing, black type, and a cover with embossed bas-relief. The cover features the author's photograph and a reasoned biography, intended as an invitation to explore the book's content. Ceccato has also created covers for Grandi Mostre, the print insert of Artribune Magazine, and collaborated with publications such as Il manifesto and L'Espresso. In 2019 and 2020, he won the Premio Buona la Prima! for best Italian book cover.
