Mattia Giussani: From Artist to Curator in London
In 2012, Mattia Giussani relocated to London, where he attended Camberwell College of Arts, graduating in 2015. His passion for curating ignited during his first year, influenced by the vibrant art scene and various non-profit venues. Following a six-month internship at Cell Project Space in East London, he pursued an MFA in Curating at Goldsmiths University, renowned globally. Over two years, his focus shifted from traditional exhibition curation to a para-curatorial method that included events, performances, discussions, and editorial initiatives. He engaged with significant London institutions like Zabludowicz Collection, ICA, Arts Catalyst, and Camberwell College of Arts, and participated in the Posthuman Glossary Masterclass with Rosi Braidotti in Utrecht. His recent works feature the group exhibition "Non Standard" at t-Space in Milan alongside Lea Collet, Marios Stamatis, Anne De Boer, Joey Holder, and Anna Mikkola, which investigates the interplay between humanity, nature, and technology within networked capitalism. Additionally, he curated "Future Fictions" at Assembly Point, collaborating with Pakui Hardware, Joey Holder, Core.Pan, and Viktor Timofeev, focusing on the impact of automation and algorithms on both physical and digital realms.
